Thank you for reading our “About Us” page. Speaking of Dogs was established in 2000 by Lorraine Houston delivering quality dog-related seminars and workshops. In 2001 Speaking of Dogs Rescue was formed, helping hundreds of dogs find a second leash on life. Lorraine and her husband Ian have now expanded, adding an online gift store to the Speaking of Dogs family.
In our gift store you will find unique and novel dog-themed products along with our gift baskets. We have tried to categorize the items aptly to make navigating your shopping experience fun and easy. We want to positively reinforce your online visits so you’ll give us two paws up – so feel free to share your thoughts with our webmaster at info@speakingofdogs.com
We will be continuously adding new products to our line up, so be sure to come back frequently to find that perfect gift idea for your dog loving friends and family (and yourself too!). We are always on the lookout for extraordinary dog themed gift/product ideas so please drop us a line and let us know if you find a dog-themed treasure you would like to see in our gift store.
Sadly, as much as we’d like to spend more time together, dogs just don’t have the same lifespan as humans. When a pet passes, sending flowers, a condolence card or a generic gift basket are options but don’t specifically reflect the loss of a beloved dog. We have long since thought a specialized pet bereavement basket would be the answer, but could never find what we were looking for so we decided to design one of our own. One that is expressly created to cherish memories, comfort the soul, console the sorrow, embrace the bond and celebrate the life of a cherished companion. In our bereavement basket section you will see that each item has been chosen with genuine thoughtfulness, respect and compassion.

A portion of our annual sales will be donated to Speaking of Dogs Rescue to help the many
